Zimbabwean top security chiefs deserve sanctions from UK government

Dear Editor,

I am more than happy by the stance taken by UK government to impose sanctions on the four Zimbabwe officials who masterminded the killing of the civilians in Zimbabwe soon after 2018 elections for simply exercising their rights. As a passionate human rights activist, I applaud this move and would be happy to see other nations doing the same. The UK Department for International Development has truly demonstrated its commitment to its objective of strengthening global peace, security and good governance.

This only shows that Zanu pf government can not the world with lies and denying responsibility for its brutality, recklessness and carelessness.

A lot of families were affected as some lost their loved ones, some were tortured and most women were raped by these soldiers. Zanu pf government created an atmosphere of fear by unleashing soldiers into the streets and instructing them to shoot to kill with live ammunition.

Emmerson Mnangagwa has openly failed to uphold human rights in Zimbabwe should get the toughest sanctions imposed on him and his entire government.

Kind Regards
