Welshman Ncube's 'ward' rally a success

Contrary to media reports making rounds that MDC rally in Lushongwe Gwanda North on Saturday was marred by a "low turnout" and "disorganisation", we the members of the MDC Gwanda North District executive are very excited and happy and can declare the ward rally a huge success.
Firstly, we want to emphasise the point that this was a WARD RALLY not what the media opts to call a "STAR RALLY" a Zanu-PF term that does not exist in our dictionary.
Being a rally in a previously predominantly Zanu-PF ward an official count of 1 237 (physical count) people in attendance not bused in, not force marched, not coerced is by no means a low turnout. While the media may try to down play the attendance I can tell you right now that the Zanu-PF leadership in the ward is in serious panic.
Secondly, we don't know where they get to the conclusion that the rally was meant to start at 10am? The media has direct access to our spokesperson's updates on twitter and facebook and he on the day outlined Pres Welshman Ncube's programme for the day which started with him attending a church service at the SDA church in Bulawayo at 10am, then attending in solidarity a ZAPU manifesto launch in Bulawayo at 12pm and then Lushongwe at 3pm. He arrived in Lushongwe at exactly 3:32pm, and proceedings at the venue had started at 3pm which was not being "disorganised" by any means.
As a party in general and Gwanda North District in particular we have a strict policy not to bring in people to a meeting or rally from outside the earmarked territory as it will give us a false picture of what the situation on the ground is. This is evidenced by us releasing only one truck to ferry people from nearby villages of Tshoboyi and Conmara within the same ward and the truck made only one trip at 12 and was back and parked the whole time. Surprising the ZBC crew was parked right next to the truck and they know the truck didn't go out searching for people.
Congratulations are in order to the people of ward 9 Gwanda North you have clearly proven it to the world that Gwanda North is green and that we have indeed taken over from Zanu-PF in their purported strong hold.
