Why I am voting for Mugabe
14 Jul 2013 at 15:12hrs | Views
I am one of those voting early, the so called special voters. I will not say what I do, suffice to say that there has been a lot of mind games where I work.
We are told if you do not vote for Mugabe this and that will happen. In the past, yes, I would believe it. But today, I think I have more confidence in the team running the elections. For once voting is no longer being done in private. I know that someone will have to be really clever to steal my vote.
For me the funny thing is I do not see why there is a need to pressure people to vote for anyone. I can see for myself who has destroyed my country. I can also see who came in promising to change the political culture, the Zanu-PF way and failed dismally.
For me, as a special voter, the choice is not an easy one. Mugabe and Tsvangirai. Mugabe is an old man, with nothing new to offer me or my fellow countrymen. If this election was about age alone, Tsvangirai would have walked it. Four years ago I would have bet my house on it, Tsvangirai would be the next leader of this country.
Now I don't think so. He has turned into a Mugabe. Look at him. From a younger wife, the mansions, the exquisite lifestyle, the hangers on, the corruption, the flying around, the nepotism and so on and so forth. Everything I hated about Mugabe, Tsvangirai is doing it. So why should I change. I see no point at all.
So I am voting for BOB, not because anything will change but, at least, I know Mugabe will not last the five years and a young person in Zanu-PF will take over.
Tsvangirai will do no better than Mugabe. He is worse. Just look at how his party looted the councils.
Can Tsvangirai put his life on the line for this country, I do not think so. He will run away to America. Bob wants us to have complete control of our destiny as Zimbabweans. He might not be going about it the wrong way, but he is talking about it. Tsvangirai is muddled up in his change mantra.
Chinja, not for me.
X pana Bob.
