Of the Political Scientists/Analysts, and Constitutionalism!

The Editor,
As the ZANU PF Congress has come and passed; many Zimbabweans are confused at what is facing them: Have we descended into dictatorship? Is it lawlessness? Was the constitution violated through the internal purges? Unlike the banditry in Iraq, the confusion in Zimbabwe seems to be an internal ZANU PF fight seemingly being orchestrated by the powerful wife of the one and only President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, His Excellence Comrade Gabriel Robert Mugabe, the First Secretary of ZANU PF and the Commander in Chief of the Zimbabwe Defense Forces.
A quick look at His Excellence leaves us with no doubt about where power lies in the country but what is confusing is: Are the laws of the country being obeyed? What does the Supreme Court say?
Instead, all we see are Political Analysts, Constitutional Experts, and Opposition Commentators who continue to give us their views about the goings on in ZANU PF and the country. Personally, I respect education and scientific analysis but I sometimes wonder where these Political Scientists got their education from? I honestly think Madhuku, Magaisa, and Manyeruke should just go away for a while for the good of Zimbabwe.
I could not understand how Madhuku of all the people tried to stop the swearing in of the newly appointed Vice Presidents. This real caused me pain. I mean my question to Madhuku is, "Has the Zimbabwean Government obeyed the Supreme Court from 1997 until today?"
Are these self-proclaimed Constitutional experts aware of President Mugabe's pronunciation at the December 2000 ZANU PF Congress that, "No judicial decision will stand in the political way", Was it not at the same Congress that President Mugabe declared that, "I am the law, I am the state." Was this not the same pronunciation that the International Jurists used to try and get President Mugabe to The Hague yet Madhuku performs his sideshow of rushing to the Courts to try and stop the Law?
Analysts must help us understand what we have in Zimbabwe where one man is the law and the state. It is just that one man who can tell the police to ignore court rulings. It is that one man who can overrule provincial elections, and/or cabinet outcomes.
While power lies in one person, a web of security apparatus ensures he gets what he wants when he wants it; all the ZANU PF members knows that and none of them would like a pleasant visit from the secret Central Intelligence Organization. Look at how Jabulani Sibanda was disposed of by the youth elders. Who knew of the existence of this group until when it became necessary to dispose of Sibanda? Is this not the repeat of history that saw Chenjerai Hunzwi destroy the Supreme Court?
Yet the so-called Political Analysts talk of Constitutional violations. Please call what we have in the country by its name: Dictatorship! How do you Magaisa talk of a Constitutional crisis in a dictatorship? Please tell us! And how do you Manyeruke justify the emergence of a shadow youth elders to dispose of the elected youth leader?
To set the record straight I don't sympathize with any of the victims of the current ZANU PF purge; I just want the truth. I believe all Mugabe's lieutenants feed at the trough of corruption the sooner they stop the better it will be for Zimbabwe.
Mugabe is a very clever person. As long as his power is not challenged, he looks on the other side as his lieutenants indulge in corrupt activities. This buys him loyalty because anyone who tries to question his leadership ends up in political and economic wilderness; Mavhaire is a case in point.
Sincerely,
Denny
