What will you gain by eliminating me Mr Mugabe? - Open letter to President R.G Mugabe

Human Rights Defender and Democracy Activist Nkosilathi Emmanuel Moyo who recently fled the country in fear of victimization by President Mugab's CIO.
Greetings to you in the name of the people's power, democracy and the respect of the rule of law. Am delighted to pen this letter to you Your Excellency and it is my sincere hope that you will spare some time from your busy schedule to read it.

Firstly I would like to start by congratulating you I heard the almighty God blessed you with a grandchild.

Congratulations Mr President, makorokoto Gushungo vana zvipo zvinobva kuna Mwari mufunge (congratulations Gushungo children are gifts from God).

Your Excellency if you don't mind can I propose a name for your grandson, I suggest you name him 'Rigging Robert Chikore'. This name will serve to remind us all about your great legacy of rigging elections and imposing yourself against the will of the people of Zimbabwe. Once again congratulations Your Excellency.

Your Excellency am writing this letter in hiding outside the borders of our motherland Zimbabwe. Yes I had to flee the country where your Gestapo the CIO were baying for my head in the small mining town of Kwekwe where I reside.

It all started when I sent you that prison uniform marked 'Crimes Against Humanity' as a birthday present when you turned 92 in February this year.

From that day I have been receiving death threats through anonymous calls and a group of four men driving  a twin cab without number plates were frequently visiting my office violently demanding to know my whereabouts. They even threatened to take my children if I don't surrender myself to them.

My lord I have no doubt that they are from your office but why Cde President?

I was only exercising my right to freedom of expression when I sent you that prison garb because am deeply convinced that you must face justice (at the I.C.C) for the past atrocities and crimes against humanity which you committed.

If I was a criminal I would have enclosed explosives in that parcel but am a non-violent, law abiding citizen and a peaceful human rights defender that's why I did not try anything to harm you Your Excellency.

What will you gain by eliminating me if I may ask?

Am just a defenceless civilian fighting for justice in his country and demanding answers from your authoritarian regime.

The colonial adminstration of Ian Douglas Smith used to incarcerate, eliminate and silence dissenting voices even nationalists like you were kept in prison for a very long time when you were demanding the majority rule.

Your Excellency why are you copying Smith's template of oppression and using it on us your own kith and kin?

Am only 28 years old and am a father of two children, breadwinner and husband to a very young beautiful woman. Is it fair to get me incapacitated and eliminated by your Gestapo because of my dissenting views?

I urge you to have a fatherly heart nzwirai vana vevamwe tsitsi sekunzwira kwamunoita ana Chatunga nekamuzukuru kenyu (Have a heart for other people's children just like how you feel for your son Chatunga and your new grandson). I will always want to return to my country Zimbabwe but your Gestapo is waiting for such an opportunity to harm me. Don't I have a right to stay in my home country and help build a better and democratic Zimbabwe?

I will conclude by asking you Your Excellency to respect the constitution of our country Zimbabwe and stop your Gestapo the CIO from plotting to eliminate me, stop the torture and incarceration of human rights defenders across Zimbabwe. Yes you can kill me Mr President but you won't kill the spirit of the people of Zimbabwe. Where we are heading to a revolution is inevitable Cde President, the people of Zimbabwe have suffered enough. I would like to ask you to make sure my rights to peacefully live in my country Zimbabwe (without these death threats from your CIO) are respected. I am entitled to my inherent right of peacefully staying in my home country Your Excellency.

Thank you for taking your time to read this long letter Cde President. Hope you will take immediate action to stop your Gestapo from baying for my head and harassing my relatives demanding to know my whereabouts. Zimbabwe is for us all Mr Mugabe!
May justice prevail on our land.
May God bless Zimbabwe.

Sincerely Yours,

Nkosilathi Emmanuel Moyo, Snr.
