'Nearly died, doctor prescribed wrong medication'

Dear Editor

Wrong Treatment:

Some time ago I consulted a medical Dr with what I thought was a simple ailment. A week on taking his prescribed drugs I found that my body was itching during the night and I made this clear to the Dr on my next visit. Dr assured me that all was well, nothing to worry about.

However the itching got worse and I started developing rash all over the body and that's when the Dr changed the medication.

The following day I had blisters all over my body, it was painful right from toe to head. It was a sorry state, a glance would send the looker the other way in tears.

I went back to the Dr who expressed shock and admitted that I was reacting to the drugs commonly known as wrong treatment.

He quickly referred me to the district hospital very close to his surgery. Nobody gave a chance to survive considering the state I was.

However by the grace of God and the professionalism of the staff at the hospital I survived. Surprisingly this Dr despite being attached to the hospital never made a follow up.

God being great I recovered quickly and was discharged after two weeks.

Now my burnt body is very sensitive to weather and the sun. So I simple visit to the Dr almost killed me.

The after shock, stress and trauma is just too much.

My once nice body is now scars all over. I'm suffering, still in great pain. I know I'm not alone but many have been victims.

We are suffering, no counselling or after exposure treatment.

I am now afraid of Drs and simply medication.
