Rev. Dr. Henry Hanya (PhD)
Intro:
 - Back in the day when I was Pastoring in Bulawayo, I found myself debating with Apostolic preacher, (Mupositori). After debating on different issues I asked him why they are fond of using water for healing instead of praying for the sick in the name of Jesus?

He answered me with a question that prompted me to study more about water. He said, " For me to answer you that question, tell me why water is mentioned in the Bible more than God and also more than Jesus? I couldn't believe my ears. So I said to him I will come back to you when I verify what you just told me.

To cut the story shot, after digging for some time, I found out that he was wrong to say water is mentioned more than God in the bible. Water is mentioned 722 times in the scriptures.

That is less than God, Jesus, heaven or love, but many more times than faith, hope, prayer and even worship.

 - The first time water is mentioned in the scripture is found in Genesis 1:2
Gen 1:2 The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.

Before there was anything; light, sun or moon, earth, plants, living creatures or anything else, there was water.

Having created the earth out of water, and the sky in the midst of waters, and calling forth living creatures out of water, God continues to bathe his creation with water as a sign of His care.

 - The last time water is mentioned is in Revelations 22:17
Revelations 22:17 The Spirit and the bride say, "Come." Let anyone who hears this say, "Come." Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life.

From the beginning of the Bible to the end water flows through the pages of scripture. It is full of passages that link water to God's creating, blessing and saving work. This maybe one reason why some preachers use water for healing

 - Water played a bigger role at creation. In the book of Genesis 1:20 says "And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creatures that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven." KJV)
 - See, the water was pregnant with life. God spoke to the water to bring forth the living creatures within it.

 - We also see that after conception, the human life is kept in a sack of water inside the womb. And when it's time to give birth, the Doctors and Nurses will be waiting anxiously for the water to break for the baby to be born.

 - For a person to be born again (Spiritual Birth), Jesus said to Nicodemus in John 3, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit"

 - Water there πŸ‘†πŸΌ is a type of the word of God. It is the word of God that gives birth to a new person in us. It washes us and cleanse us  inside just like water does to our physical body.

Ephesians 5:26 says, "That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,"

 - Spiritual birth takes place the same way that natural birth occurs. In order to bring forth in the spiritual realm, we have to get intimate with God. From that intimacy comes pregnancy. From pregnancy will eventually come travail, and then, finally, birth.
 - We must give birth to the fulfillment of God's will in our lives. The fulfillment of our God-given vision will not drop down on us out of the sky. We must draw nigh to God, and then He will draw nigh to us (James 4:8). When we read and meditate on the word, we become saturated in the word, and the word of God brings us closer to God and there by having that intimacy with him resulting in us getting pregnant of the things of God.

*But intimacy with God must come first, before there can ever be a pregnancy.

 - So it is the Word of God that draws us closer to God. We need that water/word.
So it's not the physical water we need like today's lost preachers do. They pray for the water and then call it holy water that will bring solutions to our problems. It is the word of God that brings healing to our physical bodies. It is the word of God that brings newness of heart and soul.

 - Zachariah 13:1 says, "On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity.

I like verse 4 and 5, says, "On that day every prophet will be ashamed of their prophetic vision. They will not put on a prophet's garment of hair in order to deceive.5 Each will say, 'I am not a prophet. I am a farmer; the land has been my livelihood since my youth.[a]'

 - Time will come when these false prophets will refuse to be called prophets. They will be ashamed. They will say I am just a farmer.😊
That is when the FOUNTAIN is opened and the truth prevails.

Word and Water:
John 3:5
Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.

James 1:18
He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of all he created.

1 Peter 1:23
For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

Ephesians 5:26
to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,

John 19:34
Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.

Water is of major importance to all living things. In some organisms, up to 90% of their body weight comes from water. They say up to 60% of human adult body is water.

According to H.H. Mitchell, Journal of Biological Chemistry 158, the brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water. The skin contains 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79% water, and even the bones are 31% watery.

Our spiritual life survives by the word of God just as our physical body survive by water. Without water, the body dies. Without the word of God, our spiritual life dies.

It is so clear that when it comes to our spiritual life, we need the word of God, not water or holy water. If you meet a preacher or a prophet advertising holy water, As a means to enhance our spiritual life, or for the purposes of healing, you should know right away, that something is very wrong about their message. Run away with your lifeπŸƒπŸΏπŸƒπŸΏπŸƒπŸΏπŸƒπŸΏ.
