4:29pm, 6 Mar - +263 ** *** ***7: NUST STRIKE CONTINUES....Nust parallel students have gone for 3 days without lectures. The lecturers are on strike over unpaid salaries. On Monday a meeting is said to be held between the administration and representatives of the lecturers on a payment plan which was rejected by the latter. The university says there is no money as some of the students have not paid in full their fees and the money which is supposed to come from the government is still to come, probably for those on cadetship programme.
The painful part is that the parallel students are paying $100 more than their convectional counterparts. At the end of the day they are supposed to sit for same examinations. Parallel classes are said to be an overtime job for the lecturers Some parallel students are saying they will join day classes while some say they cannot because they work during the day. One student was qouted saying "since lecturers have staged a peaceful demonstration, we will also stage a demonstration"
