19:22, 20 Sep - +27 7* *** ****: My name is Talmud Dlodlo Msindazi, i give you my true identity to show that my concern is genuine. Everywhere in the world there are disparities in the socioeconomic development of each and every region and different governments have taken the responsibility to address those inequalities. However it is not the case with our ZANU pf government which has lead the country since we attained black majority rule. Many companies have relocated from Bulawayo to Harare and the government have done absolutely nothing to address that. Since Kamativi tin mine was closed it was left to be a ghost town. A lot could have been done for example when mining of iron ore was no longer viable at Buchwa mine the government made the place a support unit police base which houses not less than 3 troops and their families. May be its because Buchwa is not in Matebeleland. I think something could have been done at Kamativi.
I grew up in my rural home that is Mberengwa and i always thought the schools i attended were the waste until recently when I realised that surely it was one of the best if compared to many schools through out the entire Matabeleland region. Most of my friends and many Zimbabweans always say and think that the Ndebele people and other minority tribes in Zimbabwe don't want to go to school because they want to go to Egoli. The truth is when you ask a young pupil at school his or her ambition in life, he or she aspires to be like someone of better standing in society. Many children in Matabeleland don't wish to b learned like their teachers because of the conditions these pedagogues are exposed to. They don't have proper accommodation like the picture of school teachers' houses below.
I took these pictures at Mankobole primary school in Binga district Matabeleland north. Many people i show some of those don't believe especially those who grew up in Mashonaland. Believe me or not but Mankobole is one of the better schools. I once visited another school called Chalumba under Matabeleland North, oh! u wont believe, then u expect school children to emulate their teachers who stays emkhukwini (shacks)
The government and the corporate world must do must do at least something to address these disparities
