Swimming icon and Olympic champion Kirsty Coventry leads a list of five Zimbabwean athletes who have already secured qualification for next year's Olympic Games in London, the Daily News reported.
Long-jumper Ngoni Makusha, long-distance runner Cuthbert Nyasango as well as rowers Jamie Frazer McKenzie and Micheen Thornycroft are the other qualifiers.
The Zimbabwe Olympic Committee (Zoc) has targeted a total of 15 athletes for Team Zimbabwe.
Athletics coach Tendai Tagara is hopeful that the country's relay team will make the grade.
"I am confident that the relay team will qualify," Tagara said. "United States-based Gabriel Mvumvure has a B standard qualification so is almost there. We also have Gilbert Mutandiro who can make the grade."
