What was billed as the top Castle Lager Premiership Sunday game between FC Platinum and Highlanders ended in dramatic fashion.

Riot police, unprovoked at Mandava Stadium threw teargas at Highlanders supporters stand with seconds left to full time causing abandonment of the match.

That was after FC Platinum had scored a last minute penalty to level with Highlanders.

From nowhere police threw teargas at Highlanders supporters to cause chaos.

The match officials called off the game.

Bulawayo24.com saw FC Platinum supporters surrounding Highlanders CEO Nhlanhla Dube threatening to beat him up.





However, FC Platinum officials quickly whisked Dube away.

Officials from both teams expressed shock and frustration at riot police conduct saying there was a hidden agenda against Highlanders.
