WE told you so!
As reported by this publication in April that Absa Premiership giants Kaizer Chiefs were set to loan out Zimbabwe international Mitchell Katsvairo, a statement released by Amakhosi on Tuesday read:
"Mitchelle Katsvairo will be loaned out for a season and assessed again at the end of next season before a permanent decision on his future with Amakhosi is made."
We reported that an alleged indecent tape involving a minor was at the centre of a storm that threatened to tear apart Katsvairo's career at South African football giants with revelations the club was contemplating shipping him out.
Katsvairo did not enjoy game time at Chiefs with only a handful of matches to his name in the just ended 2016/ 17 season.
While his camp claimed the lack of game time was due to an injury and that the player's striking partners were in top form hence he had fallen down the pecking order, a well-placed source confided in B-Metro Sport that the player invited the ire of the club with his off-field antics.
The club has been hoping he would change his wayward behaviour but it was the emergence of an alleged sex tape involving an underage girl that reportedly left Amakhosi with no option but to consider loaning him to a Tanzanian club.
"Disciplinary issues are going to definitely cost Katsvairo a place at Kaizer Chiefs. He was recently involved in a sex tape with a minor, a development that angered many officials in the team. The club is actually organising a deal for him to go to an unnamed club in Tanzania," we quoted the source as saying in April.
Katsvairo is not new to off-the-field controversies. During his days at FC Platinum he was shown the door after club officials were not impressed by his love for the bottle and the fairer sex.
Katsvairo's vacant slot is likely to be filled by another Zimbabwean forward Kudakwashe Mahachi who the club is reportedly chasing from fellow Absa Premiership side Golden Arrows.
Katsvairo, a quick and lethal finisher, joined Amakhosi in the July 2016 window transfer period together with fellow countryman Edmore Chirambadare who has gone on to impress at the Steve Komphela-mentored Soweto giants.
Chirambadare has been a regular at the club and recently won the most improved player award.
Katsvairo is one of seven players set to be released by the club after being deemed surplus to future requirements.
Katsvairo has been released together with Siyanda Xulu, Lucky Baloyi, Camaldine Abraw, Lewis Macha, Enocent Mkhabela and Siphelele Mthembu.
