Warriors duo in trouble

Denver Mukamba and Talent Chawapiwa's no show at the Warriors camp stretched Sunday Chidzambwa's patience to the limit yesterday, leading to a decision to drop both.

Mukamba was declared AWOL by team manager Wellington Mpandare while Talent later communicated that he was sorting out his papers in relation to his new deal with Baroka.

Both players missed the Tuesday afternoon training and the Wednesday morning training, leaving Chidzambwa to conclude that it was indiscipline he never tolerates.

Although Talent was not yet officially dropped by afternoon yesterday, chances are slim that he will be available for the Namibia clash at National Sports Stadium on Sunday, with chances he could leave the country for South Africa tomorrow.

"Talent is sorting out his papers but Denver is AWOL. So Denver is out. We are still waiting for Talent though he could go to South on Friday," Mpandare confirmed.

H-Metro, however, understands that Chidzambwa was not amused with the behavior of both players as they had not communicated anything in time.

On Tuesday, when the Warriors experienced a slow start to the camp, the coach was also not happy with the way players took their time arriving into camp.

And after players out of Harare arrived earlier than Denver and Talent, it stretched his patience leading to the decision.

"We will have to make a difficult decision and you can't blame us. But check with us later," Chidzambwa said after the morning training yesterday.

Talent has been outstanding for the team, a performance that saw ABSA Premiership side Baroka stars prizing him away from FC Platinum.

Denver on the other hand was given a lifeline by the Warriors technical team following his good performances for Dynamos.

While Talent and Denver have ability to change games single-highhandedly, changes made to the Warriors team ensured that Chidzambwa has enough options in midfield.

With Ocean Mushure set to play in the left midfield while Ronald Chitiyo has bounced back into the team, Namibia are set to face a completely different midfield.

The Warriors coach pointed out that it was in midfield that the Warriors had lost the battle at Sam Nujoma Stadium, giving Namibia a 1-0 advantage going into the second leg clash.
