Namibia through after winning 5-4 on penalties.

The Mashonaland selected Zimbabwe senior men's national team, the Warriors were eliminated by the Brave Warriors of Namibia following a 4-5 loss on penalties during a first round second leg CHAN qualifier match at the National Sports Stadium this Sunday afternoon.

The teams were tied 1-all on goal aggregate.

Zimbabwe had lost to Namibia 1-nil in the first leg in Windhoek last week before posting a 1-nil victory at home.

The visitors showed determination and composure from the onset by making counter raids from all angles.

The trio of Ihanamub Welwin Rihaw, Henrik Somaeb and captain Ketjijeke Ronald outclassed the Warriors midfield of Ronald Chitiyo, Simon Munawa and Devon Chafa.

The Brave Warriors converted all the spot kicks while Warriors goal keeper Herbert Rusawu's spot kick was saved by Namibia's goalie Edward Maova.

Prince Dube's strike before the breather had given the Warriors a glimmer of hope but it was not sufficient to grant the Warriors a ticket to the next round.

Warriors interim coach Sunday Chidzambwa bemoaned missing a number of players and the short time frame for the preparations.

His counterpart Ricardo Manneti could not hide his joy and attributed the victory to hard work.

The Brave Warriors will now face either Lesotho or the Comoros Islands in the second round having knocked out Zimbabwe for the first time since the inception of the CHAN tourney in 2009.
