Dembare, Caps United fans unite against Bosso
Sports Reporters and football fans in Bulawayo have demanded immediate denunciation of violence that erupted at Rufaro Stadium during Bob91 Challenge final on Sunday from the organizers.
Leading the charge was outspoken Chronicle Senior Sports Reporter Sikhumbuzo Moyo who challenged the organisers to condemn the violence in the same manner they did with the semi -finals pitting Highlanders and Caps United at Barbourfields Stadium.
"We await funders of the Sunday demonstrators at Rufaro to take to the streets again and unequivocally denounce violence and just erase BF for Rufaro, where they were making spirited efforts to have this ceremonial home of football in this part of the country to be banned!" wrote Moyo on his Facebook page.
He added "Every sane minded person MUST deplore what happened at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday, NO to violence!".
Sibanda Lovejoy responded " khuluma Khumbu ungathuli.....they have to show that they are not biased because the whole world is waiting for the reaction...... no to violence".
However, Lazie Nyamwiwa said "Sku ..I was at Rufaro and only water bottles were thrown into the stadium unlike at BF where there is always bloodshed..Fans of the opposition team beaten ,injured and killed. We have pictures of fans at BF with tsvimbos and stones.....",.
On Sunday, former Sunday News News Editor, Methuseli Moyo wrote " ANOTHER wave of missiles at Rafuro between Dynamos and Caps United. And there is no Highlanders. So Bosso fans have no monopoly when it comes to violence'.
Raymond Mdlongwa said "I am afraid, ZIFA will see it different as usual. When its Dembare Caps fans it's called a "misunderstanding" but if its Bosso yi Hooliganism".
Honest Mugadza quickly responded "You guys are not serious. Violence should not be condoned in whatever form. It seems like as if you are in support of the violence that took place at BF. Gentleman lets not kill our sport by trying to justify what is wrong by pointing to another wrong act. Mr Moyo as a journalist I think you should be the first one condemn this barbaric act",.
Some evidence of missiles at Rufaro, check minute 2:21 in the video below.
