ONLY 21 Highlanders life members have heeded the call made during the club's crisis meeting last month that resolved that they pay $20 monthly subscriptions as part of measures to extinguish the club's $765 000 debt.
This comes amid revelations that fewer than four supporters have bought $5 membership cards whose price was reduced from $50 during the mid year meeting.
"We have about four or less members who have paid the reduced membership fees," said Bosso treasurer Donald Ndebele.
Of the up to date members, nine are members of management from the secretariat to the board of directors while the rest are general life members.
Non management members who have paid are Tsholotsho High School headmaster Sicelo Dube, local doctor Solwayo Ngwenya, Noel Mnkandla, Terrence Nyoni, Derrick Ncube, Smart Moyo, Gideon Ncube, Luke Phakathi, Zwana Mdlongwa, Lincoln Ncube, Tambudzai Siziba and Knowledge Ncube.
The Bulawayo giants' debt, as of July, 2016 stood at $765 060 36 with a huge chunk coming from accruals such as rates and water, outstanding winning bonus, telephone charges, fines, rentals, sign on fees, affiliation fees and player allowances which have neen acruing over a number of years.
Ndebele urged supporters to come on board and be pro-active on isues that affect the club. He encouraged supporters and members to pay the agreed monthly subscriptions which will go a long way in alleviating the financial position of the club.
He said members can pay at the club offices or deposit the money through BancABC account number, 11385585602012, Branch code 21301, Swift code FMBZZWHX using the United States currency.
Alternatively, said Ndebele, they can use the Econet Biller Code 70662.
