Zim urged to embrace information communication technologies

Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai called on all Zimbabwean to embrace information communication technologies (ICTs) in order to enhance the development of the country's economy.
The PM made the call while he was the guest of honour at the Zimbabwe ICT 2011 Achievers Awards ceremony which had 15 categories up from 7 last year.
This year's top ICT Rural School of the Year went to Chogugudza Primary School, with E-Learning Solutions scooped the Top ICT Educator of the Year Award.
Top NGO Promoter of ICTs Award went to the International Institute for Development Facilitation while Paul Nyakazeya from The Herald scooped the Top ICT Journalist of the Year.
Other institutions and individuals who were awarded for their ICT work in various categories were Zimbabwe Human Capital, Chartered Systems Integration, Tawanda Chikosi of Electronic Systems, Econet Wireless, Telecel Zimbabwe, Kingdom Bank, Caroline Chirima of Buzz Tech and Lovemore Mukono of Mukonitronics .
