Internet services provider Zimbabwe Online (ZOL) today announced the launch of a new set of broadband packages.

The country's leading ISP has dramatically cut all costs for its high-speed Internet service throughout Zimbabwe.

In an email the company's CEO David Behr said: "this is not a promotion set to entice you over to ZOL before we return to "normal" prices, but rather a permanent price reduction and increase in speed - making ZOL the best value broadband in Zimbabwe."

ZOL's entry-level Unlimited Broadband package is now just $59 a month - with no data cap and speeds up to 1mbps.  This can be instantly upgraded to 3mbps for just $129.

No new equipment, no hidden "last mile" fees and no contracts - simply a great deal.

ZOL's Superfast Fibre packages start at a mind-blowing 10Mbps connection for just $149 a month.

The company boasts of its supercharged up to 20Mbps package for $259 a month.

These Superfast Fibre packages represent the next generation broadband in Zimbabwe.

The email sent to ZOL customers reads:

Dear ************  *********

Following fast on the heels of our market-leading initiative to end all "capped" services and make all ZOL broadband unlimited, we are pleased to announce the launch of a new set of broadband packages that not only embrace our unlimited philosophy, but also dramatically cut the cost of high-speed Internet service throughout Zimbabwe.

Even better, this is not a promotion set to entice you over to ZOL before we return to "normal" prices, but rather a permanent price reduction and increase in speed - making ZOL the best value broadband in Zimbabwe.

Our entry-level Unlimited Broadband package is now just $59 a month - with no data cap and speeds up to 1mbps.  This can be instantly upgraded to 3mbps for just $129.  No new equipment, no hidden "last mile" fees and no contracts - simply a great deal.

ZOL's Superfast Fibre packages start at a mind-blowing 10mbps connection for just $149 a month and we offer supercharged speeds up to 20mbps for $259 a month.  These Superfast Fibre packages represent the next generation broadband in Zimbabwe - a new animal has entered the market and no one will match the speed of our cheetah!

We have also taken this opportunity to simplify our packages.  Thanks to the close working relationship with our parent company, Liquid Telecom, we have consolidated all our access technologies into WiMAX, fibre and VSAT.  For the first time in ZOL's history we can offer all services over our wholly owned and managed network, without involving any third parties that have a mediocre service.  We take responsibility for the end-to-end connection from your house all the way to the Internet backbone in London.

ZOL packages are now split into two broad categories - home and business - each enhanced for the best user experience.  Our home packages are optimized for home usage protocols such as file sharing, gaming and video streaming with large capacity offered outside of business hours when you need the speed the most.  Conversely, our business packages are designed for business-critical applications during the busiest hours of the day - ensuring your business is productive with things like video conferencing and not wasting waiting for large files and documents to download.

Our new prices for home broadband are here: http://www.zol.co.zw/index.php/zol-services/unlimited-home-broadband and for business broadband here: http://www.zol.co.zw/index.php/zol-services/unlimited-business-broadband

As an existing ZOL customer, you do not have to do anything to get these amazing new prices and speeds. Over the next few weeks we will be phasing in the new products and automatically converting you to the most appropriate package based on your existing service.  Once you are migrated you are of course welcome to review and upgrade your service.  Please bear with us whilst we deal with the inevitable glitches a major change like this brings.

No doubt one day all Internet will be unlimited and superfast, but until then there's ZOL.  Please encourage your friends to move to ZOL, it is just not fair to leave them with a standard broadband service.

Thank you again for all your support and for choosing ZOL.  We look forward to continuing to bring you new and innovative services.

Best regards,
David Behr
