Facebook has introduced "a new feature in Messenger that gives people a more convenient and secure way to send or receive money between friends."
According to the giant social network, the feature will be free and it "will be rolling out over the coming months in the US."
The new payment feature could help Facebook dominate mobile app messaging. According to cnet.com at the end of 2014, Facebook tallied nearly 1.2 billion monthly users logging on from a mobile device, but less than half use the company's Messenger service.
