The South African Communist Party (SACP) has strongly condemned the barbarism of criminals around Laudium, Tshwane, who burnt an innocent Zimbabwean woman to death recently.
Party's Provincial secretary in Gauteng Province, Jacob Mamabolo said a second person was rescued by the police from ferocious mob from the same incident.
"We send our condolences to the family of the Zimbabwean national and wish full and speedy recovery to the man rescued by police," said Mamabolo.
"We commend police action which led to saving an innocent life. Greater effort on the part of the police should go into early detection and combating of such crimes in our communities."
He said the party demands that the perpetrators of this heinous crime be brought to book.
"We are however satisfied that these crimes, although on the increase, remain largely marginal are not widely supported in communities. Many of our peace loving people reject the barbarism of these criminals."
Mamabolo said their mass organisations of people's power should be mobilised behind the campaign to obliterate this hatred and the efforts by the political leadership in the provincial government and alliance must be fully supported.
"As we said in our January 21 statement, "it is the system of capitalism which reproduces social conditions that "channel the masses towards reactionary and xenophobic nationalism or inconsistent pacifism," he said.
"On its part, the SACP will continue the spread of its campaign to "Red Card Crime" and ensure the uprooting of criminals in our communities."
