Where did Zimbabwe go wrong? - Live Discussion

The moment you find a country getting to a stage where the entirety of the civilian population celebrates the bashing of members of the elite police force by civilians let alone those civilians who are purported to be the holier section then its time you realise and agree that the country has gone to the dogs.

In the old policing, a police man was an epitome of the rule of law of the country, instead of celebrating shouldn't we be asking ourselves where the country is heading to if our police force can no longer be accorded the respect it deserves as a police force?

Where did we go wrong? These are exactly the reasons why when at the time of writing the constitution we demanded for a Ministry of Police which some what fell off. Instead of the police venting their anger on the "holy" civilians fingers are pointing at you the police, where did you go wrong? Where to our beloved country?

Roy these discussions forums are very good for our country.I urge to continue coming up with a lot of them on a weekly basis , so that pout people will have a forum to express their feelings about current affairs in our country.Well what the Vapostori did was well long overdue, they were making a statement to the corrupt Zimbabwe police. It was a warning they must expect more next time.Usatambe nevatumwa vamwari, vanokurova kana ukasachenjera.

Is it a coincidence that the attack came barely 24hrs after the police boss collapsed? The whole police force is weak. Why did the police want to disband the sect without investigating.Maybe the sect thought Ndanga had bribed those officers.I think the President should talk to them, remember how they attended his rally in the run up to the elections. They think they are above the law.Let's hope the sect has not set a precedence on dealing with cops.

who cares about the beating of the police? All those socalled holies are Shona. They spported Mugaba, in the 1980s, his army and police in eliminating uNkomo and strengthening Zanu PF and its one party state idea. What are they now crying about? Yeka kuxophane. Thats what happens in a country whose leadership is decided on tribalism. Live with it!

This is a sign how of how God is feeling about this government of Zimbabwe.God is using his right hand men to express his anger. That was not only physical attack, but also spiritual. We must expect the worst to follow.

I think this is time that, the government of Zimbabwe must realize that being a leader is a blessing from God,and if the way that the blessed doesn't please God.God is always having the means of destroying that individual. When he starts no-one can stand in his way.Once if God casts his spirit to his people to reclaim their rights.Zanu will regret being in power.

The Police has been led by people who have supported a political party instead of being loyal to the country. The commanders have gone to the extend of firing and victimising all those whom they think are not Zanu Pf. Nobody would ever have faith in that kind of a police. Look at how the Police handled the Anglican-Kunonga issue. They were clearly pro Kunonga and many assault dockets were opened but not a single arrest was made because the perpetrators were from Kunonga camp. Now they have lost trust from the Vapositori and can not be nuetral enforcers of any order. Police must go back to its position and they will get the respect easily.

Let them taste their own madicine. If you teach a child that the way of talking is beating, then the child will in turn talk to you by beating and it should not be painful. They bred violence and people are throwing it back to them. They washed the respect they had. And they were so stupid that they didn't see that the place they to was holy and that they would be defeated nomatter what. That is not a place to use buttons will nill, but to ask for guidance and strength.

When people attack a police ofiicer, soldier or any person who represents the state, it is an indicatio of how angry they to the state. They feel that's how they can express their frustration. Who knew even the men of cloth could abandon their prayers and use their knobkerries to attack the govt? This indicates how deep people are fed up with the regem. Those are the last people to act in that way and it serves only as the tip of the icebeg. Nomatter what happens to the sect, the message has been sent loud and clear, that would not change what's in their mind and subsiquent change they feel should happen.

All went wrong when the police through away their professionalism and started to work as a security branch of ZANU PF.It all started when we embarked on the chaotic land reform, instead of the police arresting the pepper traitors of violence there were arresting the victims. The trend increased during elections when only MDC members were being arrested. The final nail to the coffin was when Chihuri declared his support of ZANU PF which is against the police charter
