A Triangle
police officer Admire Magodhlo was this week arrested after making a
false report that he had lost $21 960 and a vehicle to a robbery at his
house.
Masvingo Mirror reported that police investigations discovered that the fake robbery had been arranged by Magodhlo.
It is understood that the accused who runs several Ecocash shops had a lot of debts and he committed the crime in order to avoid paying his dues.
Allegations
against Magodhlo are that on May 26, 2016 he organised with one of his
employees Phillip Kwangware who works at one of his ecocash shops at
Bongo Business Centre that he wanted to fake a Police report and asked
Kwangware to play a role in the said robbery.
He told him that he will leave a door at his Rufaro House open and leave car keys while he went away with his family.
He promised Kwangware $200 for playing a role in the job. Kwangware`s job was to drive away the vehicle a Honda Stream ADX 8322 and leave it somewhere in the bush in Chingwizi where Magodhlo will facilitate its recovery but the biggest deal was to act as if $21 960 was stolen at his Rufaro home.
Magodhlo advised Kwangware to apply engine oil on the steering so that fingerprints would not be detected. Kwangwari drove the vehicle and left it at Nuanetsi Ranch but the matter came to light when detectives interrogated Kwangwari at Bongo Business centre who told the Police all that happened leading to Magodhlo`s arrest.
