Gwekwerere on the run

FOOTBALLER Evans Gwekwerere's name sake, who happens to be a South African national, is on Me run after he reportedly stole cash from a local businessman whilst he was in the company of two other Zimbabwean men.
Gwekwerere is said to have teamed up with another South African national only identified as Bram and Elasmos Dzimiri and went to steal from the Meal businessman who was parked at the corner of Abercorn and Leopold Takawira and went away with USSO 000.
Dzimiri, who is believed to have been employed by the person they rob.d, was arrested and taken to Harare magistrates' court charged with robbery. He was not asked to plead to the charges when appeared before magistrate Barbara Chimboza charged with theft.
It is the State's case that sometime in March this year, the Dzimiri hatched a plan to steal Dorn his employer. He reportedly approached his uncle Farai Gwekwerere and advised him of his plans to steal from his employer. Farai is also said to have engaged his brother Evans Gwekwerere whom he later introduced to Dzimiri.
The court heard that Evans Gwekwerere agreed and he engaged Bram before they went to see Dzimiri at his workplace in Harare's city centre. Accusations are that Dzimiri showed Evans Owekwerere and Bram his employer's cars and the one which ferries cash after business hours.
Reports are that Evans Gwekwerere and Bram started tracking Dzimiri's employers' car and one day they spotted it parked along Leopold Takawira.
They allegedly smashed its window and stole US$4 0OO and disappeared into thin air.
Dzimiri was later arrested in connection with the theft and he admitted to working in cahoots with Evans Gwekwerere and Bram when being interviewed by the police. He was arrested and taken to court charged with theft.
