Following the reported discovery of a huge cash stash estimated to be ten million dollars at Finance Minister Chombo's home, soldiers from the Military Police are reported to have dropped by Wicknell Chivayo's house at Number 14 Stanchart Lane in Greystone Park, Harare.
Indications are that they found the home deserted as Chivayo is believed to have already made good his escape. His whereabouts are not known.
Chivayo is a well-known shoddy businessman whose really line of business remains a mystery. He has appeared a number of times in the company of the besieged First Family and is believed to be a major financier of Mugabe's activities.
The soldiers are presumably going after the G-40 financiers with the intention of cutting the supply of cash that might be used for mercenary work. The arrest of ZANU PF youth leader Kudzai Chipanga and Finance Minister Ignatius Chombo has started a domino fall. Many of the known G40 supporters are either arrested or on the run.
Chivayo is believed to have delivered the cash that was used by Grace Mugabe to fund the Youth Interface Rallies. The rallies were used as a platform to settle succession scores.
Wicknell Chivayo who usually flaunts his riches on social media has been unusually modest.
