A section of Harare's Budiriro 5 residents has expressed concern over a perennial sewage problem that has seen intermittent discharges of raw effluent in residential areas and streets for the past 10 years.
House number 1055 visited by the ZBC News crew was literally surrounded by sewage with home owner, Timothy Mudzipurwa saying a second manhole constructed by council to stop the problem failed to work.
Other residents said there seems to be no permanent solution, leaving them exposed to water borne diseases.
Several areas in Harare have been experiencing water and sanitation problems, owing to dilapidated infrastructure, thus creating a need for the local authority to create a sustainable rehabilitation plan.
