The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Mines and Mining Development held the induction workshop for the members at the a Harare city hotel.
In his opening remarks, the committee chairman Temba Miswa stressed that National interest should be paramount in all the Committee's business which should be handled in a non partisan manner.
"May I also seize this opportunity to thank ZELA for their support in building the capacity of the MPs. On exploration, before mining it is critical that exploration is first done to establish the quantity and value of our minerals. This is where we are losing it, Govt should take full responsibility for exploration. We are lobbying Treasury to release funding for exploration," he said.
