Man shoots girlfriend

Police in Mashonaland Central province yesterday arrested Benard Mpofu (47) in Madziva who allegedly shot his girlfriend twice in a dispute.
Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Sergeant Major Samuel Chikasha confirmed the case.
"I can confirm an attempted murder case in Madziva where Mpofu shot his girlfriend Patience Makanika (33) after she ordered him to leave the house they were cohabiting," Chishaka said.
Allegations are that Mpofu pulled his pistol and shot Makanika twice and injured her in the process.
Makanika was rushed to hospital where her condition is stable.
Police urged people to shun violence in relationships.
