Tshabangu now leader of the opposition in Parliament

Senator Sengezo Tshabangu of Matabeleland North Province has been appointed as the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, overseeing both the National Assembly and the Senate.
The announcement was made this afternoon by Advocate Jacob Mudenda, the Speaker of the National Assembly, during a session in the National Assembly.
As the official Leader of the Opposition, Senator Tshabangu will serve as the primary liaison for the Government and other stakeholders when engaging with the opposition on various issues.
His responsibilities include forming portfolio committees and appointing chairpersons to positions designated for the opposition in international organizations such as the Pan African Parliament (PAP), the SADC Parliamentary Forum, the International Parliamentary Union (IPU), and the African, Caribbean and Pacific-European Union (ACP-EU), among others.
Senator Tshabangu has also been appointed as a member of the Parliament Standing Rules and Orders Committee, the legislative assembly's highest decision-making body. Additionally, he is a member of the International Parliamentary Union, the global parliamentary organization.
