Boy dies in a scotch cart accident

A 10-YEAR-OLD Muzarabani boy died on the spot in an accident involving an ox-drawn cart on Monday.
Leornard Makenzie of Kamhinnga Mukoma Village in Muzarabani died after sustaining head injuries when the scotch cart overturned.
Deputy Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Inspector Tonny Nyandoro confirmed the case.
"I can confirm a fatal road accident which occurred along Muzarabani -Mukumbura road where an ox drawn cart with one passenger on board overturned there by killing him on the spot," Nyandoro said.
Allegations are that the now deceased was traveling in the cart and when approaching Gukuyo bridge , Muzarabani the scotch cart hit a pillar of the bridge and the cattle misbehaved by changing direction hence the scotch cart overturned once throwing the now deceased out.
He was further hit by the board of the cart and fell onto the hard ground.
Makenzi sustained head injuries and died on the spot.
The body of the deceased was conveyed to St Albert's Hospital mortuary for post mortem.
