1 dead, 2 injured in head-on collision along Borrowdale road

One person was killed and two others injured in a head-on collision involving two private vehicles along Borrowdale Road in Harare on Saturday morning.
The accident occurred around 7am near St George's College and involved a Honda Fit and a Toyota GD6. According to an eyewitness, the Honda Fit was travelling at high speed when it veered into the oncoming lane and crashed into the Toyota.
"The Honda Fit was being driven recklessly and suddenly swerved into the other lane before smashing into the Toyota," said the witness, who arrived at the scene shortly after the impact.
The driver of the Honda Fit died on the spot, while the occupants of the Toyota GD6 sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police are yet to release an official statement regarding the crash. The accident has raised fresh concerns about reckless driving and speeding on Harare's busy roads.
