Police in Bulawayo are appealing to the public for assistance in locating a local man who has been missing for more than three decades.
Michael Mabhena, a 62-year-old resident of Nkulumane suburb, was last seen in August 1994 when he reportedly left his home and never returned. His disappearance has remained a mystery ever since, with no confirmed sightings or leads.
In a statement, acting Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Nomalanga Msebele, urged members of the public with any information to come forward.
"Mabhena is approximately 1.67 metres tall, of medium build, and dark in complexion," said Inspector Msebele. "As police, we are urging anyone with information that could help trace the missing man to contact ZRP Nkulumane on (0292) 481145, Mr Khumalo on 0772 379 250, or report to the nearest police station."
The appeal comes as part of a renewed effort by authorities to resolve long-standing missing persons cases and reunite families with their loved ones.
Police have not ruled out any possibilities and are hopeful that members of the public may recall something that could assist in tracing Mabhena's whereabouts.
