The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has announced plans to construct a new boarding school, ZRP Umguza High School, in Matebeleland North province.
The school will be located near Ntabazinduna, about 40 kilometres from Bulawayo.
In a statement, police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said a golf tournament was being held at the Bulawayo Country Club to raise funds for the project, with proceeds expected to support the construction of classrooms, dormitories and sports facilities.
He said the initiative goes beyond sport, describing it as an investment in youth development and community-building, while strengthening ties between the police and the public.
The proposed school will complement ZRP High School in Hatcliffe, Harare, and is aimed at expanding educational opportunities for young people.
