A female 48-year-old self-proclaimed SDA church member from Kadoma was on Wednesday humiliated after she was caught red-handed stealing a dress at Greenways Shop along Robson Manyika Avenue in Harare.
The woman, who identified herself as Synodia Dube, was caught red-handed as she was about to make good her thieving act. She hid the loot underneath her dress, next to her privates.
Narrating her ordeal, Synodia blamed evil spirits for her conduct.
"I think it's a demon that came over me. I do not steal, this is my first time to do this. I stay with my daughter who was blessed with triplets. I am a Seventh Day Adverntist church member," said the woman whose church strictly adheres to ALL the 10 commandments including the eighth one which says 'Thou shall not steal'.
The shop co-owner who refused to be named said they were strong UFIC members and they believe that is why they managed to catch the thief.
"She made a mistake of stealing from a son of prophet. No one can steal from this shop For the owner is anointed with prophet's (Makandiwa) miracles. Thank you God of Makandiwa," said the co-owner.
