CUSTOMERS at a food outlet in Mount Hampden were shocked on Saturday night when they discovered a live cobra mixed with chicken relish.
The incident happened at Mabviriviri Restaurant.
The relish was said to be cold which might have prompted the huge snake to ‘hide' in the food.
Revellers who were drinking beer are said to have temporarily detained Nelia Azike, baying for her blood.
"These are charms at play my brother as people are sacrificing their lives engaging in sin order to get money.
"What surprised us most is the fact that the restaurant owner refused to report to the scene after we confronted his worker.
"He only came yesterday (Monday) to burn the snake and this incident took place immediately after his wife left the restaurant.
"We will not allow the restaurant to be opened until they give us a satisfactory answer on how the snake was found in the port" said a customer.
Nelia, said she was shocked to discover the snake and suspects one of the customers stashed the reptile after she went to clean one of the kitchen utensils.
"I do not know how the snake was found in the pot and I never saw it until one of the customers asked for chicken relish.
"The customer came asking for beef relish and he quickly changed his mind and opted for chicken so I left the place to clean the spoon only to discover a live cobra in the pot and shouted for help.
"I do not remember my boss names and his contact numbers.
"He ordered me to close the restaurant saying he wants to consult traditional healers or mapostori".
