This was said by President Robert Mugabe while officiating at the official opening of a Choppies retail outlet in Chitungwiza.
The retail sector is critical in boosting the country's aspiration of value addition and beneficiation.
This can be achieved by the promotion and buying local horticultural products from farmers and other products.
President Mugabe urged the retail outlet to maintain the thrust of horticulture for farmers who produce a variety of grain and castigated those who are in the habit of profiteering and hiking prices unreasonably.
He said Zimbabweans should also strive to produce, manufacture and export their products.
Former Botswana President and Chairman of Choppies Enterprises Limited Mr Festus Mogae noted that the buying of local products is critical, adding there is a deliberate policy to also employ people living with disabilities.
The official opening was also graced by the two vice presidents Emmerson Mnangagwa and Phelekezela Mphoko, several government ministers, officials and members of the business community.
