On Saturday 2nd June 2018, Zimbabwe Human Rights Organisation (ZHRO) members will participate in training for the Walk for Freedom - by walking 10 miles from East Croydon to London Eye - to help highlight the need for change in Zimbabwe.

Those taking part in the protest will gather outside East Croydon train station at 08:00am.

Shortly after 08:30 am walkers will begin walking, singing and handing out leaflets until they reach their final destination.

"There is still time to sign up for the Walk. We are expecting those going for their MDC meeting in central London to walk with us" said one of the organisers

"We are a non profit organisation working to fight for human rights in Zimbabwe. Let's come together to illuminate the darkness of election rigging that is about to take place at home" said one of the walkers, Charity Ndebele

This 16km Training Walk will be in preparation for the main 105km Brighton to London annual Walk for Freedom scheduled for 10-11 August 2018.

Zanu-PF has survived even though they do not respect citizens' political freedoms and civil liberties, repressed dissent, and have held elections that are neither Free, nor Fair, nor remotely Credible.

This club of authoritarian coup leaders are seeking to maintain an iron grip on power after the elections in July.

ZHRO's Walks For Freedom are designed to demand urgent action against violence, cheating at the ballot box, either because of fraud, coercion, and intimidation as well as raising money for charity.

Certainly, previous elections in Zimbabwe have given democracy a bad name.
