Should we keep having elections in Zimbabwe?

25 Aug 2018 at 19:46hrs | Views
President of Zimbabwe elect Munangagwa promised free and fair elections, the just ended elections can not be regarded as such.A challenge at the courts can only mean that like all previous elections in Zimbabwe this was a shambolic plebiscite to hood wink the international community that we are on a path of democracy.

What really is the purpose of elections when Zanu-PF, through its terror agents, warn that they will not be removed from power? The Border Gezi militia, the war vets and Chiwenga through their reckless statements show that they will never concede defeat. Millions are spent every five years for a shame election whose outcome is obvious and known because so called independant bodies are on the side of Zanu-PF. As long as there are no electoral reforms we must kiss elections good bye and accept that while Mugabe is gone we are stuck with the same ruthless brutal system that does not care .

As it stands Ambi Chiwenga is angled for takeover after their Junta frontman then maybe Sibusiso Moyo and so on. Zanu-PF thinks the economy of Zimbabwe is defined by shelves full of imported goods when the industries are operating at less than 30%.The biggest employer is Chinese who have opened shops to sell every small item from toothpicks brought from China and the government says investors are ready for Zimbabwe.

No genuine sincere investor will put his money into a deep dark hole were Zanu-PF vultures wait to grab it.This was never about Mugabe staying long in power but about people who came from the war with intention to live a life of the former colonialists while trampling the rights of people they claim to serve.

Zimbabwe has become a military state whether one is going to believe it or not this is the sad fact. One dubious Zanu-PF apologist calling himself an analyst said military men make good leaders ! This would be true if they don't represent one party openly at every institution they are placed  while pretending that they are non partisan.

ZEC has proved that they are the Zanu-PF extra man, the Registrar General's office following suit. Judges who openly defied court orders related to farm seizure are part of the Constitutional bench people expected to be partial. Was this not expecting a miracle?
