Chiwenga's 'coup face' failed to intimidate fuel protesters

The fall of a military junta should not be a surprise. But what is astonishing in Zimbabwe is the speed at which the coup plotters have run into political problems that will surely end their rule.
Management of the economy is a puzzle which the military junta has failed to solve.
It is unusual for the head of state to call a press conference to announce the increase of fuel price. But the desperate President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa has done it, which itself is a sure sign of failure and great confusion.
MLO is fully aware that the rise of fuel prices by 200% in Zimbabwe will have a negative impact in all spheres of the economy.
We are mindful of the fact that Matabeles are also affected by the sky rocketing prices not of fuel only but many other basic commodities.
We therefore call upon Matabeles who would like to participate in the on going protests to do so cautiously, strategically and tactfully with Matabeleland
independence in mind.
We remind all Matabeles that all struggles that we have taken part in under the banner of Zimbabwe have yielded no positive results for us. And this one will not be different.
In the 1970s Matabeles participated and died in the struggle for independence of Zimbabwe. The struggle produced shona supremacists who oppressed and went on to commit genocide against Matabeles.
In the period 1999 to 2013 we took part in the so called "Mugabe must go" mantra under MDC. That produced the GNU which created a shona prime minister and a shona president and again Matabeles occupied inferior positions of deputy prime minister and vice president. The segregation of Matabeles in all spheres of life continued unabated.
In November last year Matabeles participated again in the removal of the dictator former President Mugabe. The struggle produced the military junta under Mnangagwa which continued to treat Matabeles a second class citizens. Notably, under Mnangagwa Matabeles were denied their right to reinstall their king, denied their right to restore the statehood of Matabeleland. Instead he threatened to kill all those who are advocating for the independence of Matabeleland for he said, "down with them". Meaning that he would bury them six feet down as meant by this horrible slogan.
The current protests are the product of MDC Alliance, a political grouping that has proved beyond any reasonable doubt that it is part of shona supremacism and shares the same hym book with Zanupf when it comes to treatment of Matabeles.
MDC Alliance will never be a solution to Matabeleland grievances.
Given all the above, MLO urges all Matabeles who would like to participate in the on going protests to do so cautiously, strategically and tactfully with Matabeleland independence in mind.
Beware of people who pretend to be your comrades only if you are fighting in the trenches but turn against you and treat you as foreigners when freedom has been won.
