'Rogue Khupe is adding no value to our politics' - and corrupt Chamisa is? Incurable insanity

Most of us have heard of the great Physicist Albert Einstein's famous line: "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." And, here is the nub of it, all of us including the insane, agree with him 100%.

Those who are insane do not know they are doing the same thing over and over again; they do not know they are insane!

The root cause of Zimbabwe's economic meltdown; 40 years of gross mismanagement and rampant corruption have left the country in total economic ruins; and political paralysis; stuck with a corrupt, incompetent and murderous ruling party complete with entourage of equally corrupt and incompetent opposition; is the failure to hold free, fair and credible elections. Zanu PF rigged the 1980 elections by making it known the civil war would continue if the party was to lose the elections.

Zanu PF executed the 1983 to 1987 Gukurahundi massacre to force PF Zapu, its main political opponent, to sign the Unity Accord and thus pave the way for the imposing of a de facto one-party dictatorship. Zanu PF has corrupted the state institution like the Police, ZEC, Judiciary, etc. making them department of the party in all but name and all committed to keep the party in power at all cost.

Zanu PF has stifled public debate, denying any meaningful democratic competition and blatantly rigged the elections and, from time to time used wanton violence; abductions, beatings, rape and cold blooded murders of its political critics and opponents.

So for 40 years and counting Zanu PF has rigged the election to claim the predetermined land slide victory for the party. And for 40 years and counting Zimbabweans have participated in the flawed, illegal and utterly meaningless elections expecting a different outcome.

"We are all aware that MDC-T and the MDC Alliance are two different opposition parties which contested the 2018 elections as different entities. It's also publicly known that MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa defeated Mnangagwa, before the latter rigged the election to claim the presidency," wrote Energy Shangwani in Bulawayo 24.

So you acknowledge that Mnangagwa rigged the elections (something did penetrate ossified brain of the insane). Mnangagwa rigged the elections to claim the presidency and for Zanu PF to claim the 2/3 majority.

The point is the opposition should have never participated in the 2018 without first implementing the reforms designed to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. This point assumes greater importance and urgency when one realises that MDC leaders participating in these elections had many golden opportunities to implement the democratic reforms and wasted them all because they sold out.

Worse still, by participating in these flawed and illegal elections the opposition are giving the process credibility and, by extension, the vote rigging Zanu PF regime legitimacy. What is more, the opposition leaders like David Coltart, at least, (others like Shangwani's brain has ossified beyond the pale for such niceties), know this to be so.

"It is now very clear that the rogue Thokozani Khupe has found her way to Parliament via the backdoor with the assistance of Mnangagwa. Khupe adds no value to the upliftment of the people and what she is doing is to aid a rogue regime which is corrupt and is well-known for massive human rights abuses," continued Shangwani.

These are just the paranoid ranting of a mad person! Zanu PF has 2/3 majority and the presidency; the regime has ruled with the iron fist with or without Khupe. She is as irrelevant as the fly on VP Mike Pence's head during the VP debate!

The whole world knows that Zimbabwe is a pariah state ruled by corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous thugs. The suggestion that the entry of Thokozani Khupe into parliament is going to make the Zanu PF dictatorship worse is just as absurd as the suggestion that the MDC Alliance MPs before her made the rogue regime better.

Indeed, the fixation with the few and ineffective opposition MPs is a manifestation of the deep rooted mental rot the insane - they now see progress where there is none.

And so, to paraphrase Einstein, "Incurable insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and get the same result but convince oneself the result is different and there is progress."

The root cause of Zimbabwe's economic meltdown and political paralysis is the failure to hold free, fair and credible elections. We have three years left before the next elections and we have done nothing to ensure the next elections are free, fair and credible.

The last two years have been wasted on trivial matters such as trying to distinguish the corrupt and incompetent Thokozani Khupe from the equally corrupt and incompetent Nelson Chamisa. They are no more than a fly on the Zanu PF bull.

With no meaningful democratic reforms Zanu PF will rig the 2023 elections and MDC factions will fight over the scraps Zanu PF throws at them and the nation will still be stuck with the economic meltdown and political paralysis.

Nations get the government they deserve, Zimbabweans are insane and we certainly deserve this corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship complete with its entourage of equally corrupt and incompetent opposition.

In 40 years, Zanu PF has transformed this once upon a time proud nation with a promising economy and future into a Banana Republic stumbling from one crisis into another. And now the crisis is morphing before our very eyes into a tragedy as the country's basic services such as education and health care totally collapse and millions are driven into abject poverty.

"Khupe adds no value to our politics" And so you think equally corrupt and incompetent Chamisa was adding value? It is a mad world!
