Goodbye Aneus Chigwedere
22 Jan 2021 at 18:54hrs | Views
In as much as the death of a person is not celebrated, but the death of Chigwedere brings about relief and a possible leeway to historical justice.
Chigwetere out of his hate for Mthwakazi, remorselessly enforced the 1979 grand plan, telling fake history that sought to promote Shona supremacy in the binary of Zimbabwe.
Today, King Lobhengula is implied to have been a sellout who sold Mthwakazi for sugar. What a lie! If his (Chigwedere) Zanla forces could not stand the Rhodesian Front, armed with Chinese arms, how would King Lobhengula's warriors stand the White settlers' rifles while armed with spears?
Shamelessly, Chigwetere portrayed the mysterious Mbuya Nehanda and Sekuru Kaguvi as the 'people' who guided the armed forces through to the liberation of Zimbabwe. If there has ever lived creatures in those names, who has ever come across their living relatives?
It is among these reasons that we see his death as the realisation of justice to the history of that binary because maybe those that will produce history books after his era will produce books with true history.
Goodbye Aneus Chigwetere.
