Why Zanu-PF will fall this August

18 Jul 2013 at 03:08hrs | Views

For the last 33 years it has been promise after promise yet the country has been going down the drain. People are abused, violence is the theme and police gets abused to vote together with the military. Villagers endure arson and violence. Once Zanu PF candidates win, they kick the ladder into the faces of those holding it for them. They go on like that until the next election phase comes. That is only when they make a U-Turn and emerge with more colourful promises. To get to the point these are the reasons why Zanu PF will most likely fall down this August:

Diamonds Wealth
No one is being accountable on the whereabouts of the wealth. Everyone in Zanu Pf has become super rich overnight. Some own more mines as some own banks and wild life safaris. Their empires of wealth are a direct benefit through plunder of diamond wealth. Their President (Mugabe) knows that and is  part of the game. No one has the capacity to keep others on leash. As they get fat and richer, the whole of Zimbabwe is suffering. This is the very time the entire Zimbabwe is supposed to cheer Zanu PF to continue plundering in the next few years as the majority continues to suffer. The diamond wealth loot has seen Zimbabwe begging for election money, money for infrastructure needs and many others. It is just a mockery when the nation is this rich.

Corruption

This is the number one issue with Mugabe's cabinet. There is so much going on. National resource plunder, ghost workers on the civil employee pay roll, fake war veteran claims and many other issues have seen Zimbabwe getting drained by wealth vampires. To vote them or trust them again is but to encourage them.

Violence
Every election year from Mbare to Masvingo, Bindura, Chinhoyi, Kariba, Mutare, Gweru, Zanu PF runs a reign of terror. When their thugs descend on people, they become indiscriminate and will beat, harass, torture people enmasse to instill fear and coercion. The end result becomes like that which has been happening within the Zanu PF primaries where the old guard and some prominent figures have donated millions of dollars worth of dry kapenta fish, soap and cooking oil to innocent villagers considered easy-to fool, but still lost in the primaries to newly injected figures within their same party. People will smile, laugh and cheer to fool the candidates. And as they say, you can force the donkey to the river but cannot force it to drink the water. People will put on Zanu PF t-shirts, chant slogans, eat the available food and drink like it's Christmas but that does not mean they will vote for Zanu PF. With more violence by their candidates and other notorious party thugs, Zanu PF is serving as a reverse campaign tool for the opposition. Beat those innocent people en masse so that they can run away and vote for any other party that is not Zanu PF. In any case I would be a fool to be tortured or to lose my home and still turn back and vote for a party whose people have given me lifetime trauma, pain and suffering.

Empty Promises
For 33 years, Zanu PF has been giving sweet promises at election time. This year, there won't be any more surprises. People are weary of fake promises that only come with elections. So they keep asking; So what is it this time? Why now after 33 years of loot and corruption? What new ideas or promises can you tell us after this humungous let down that has sent millions out of the country? Why are we here if you are a true party of the people? Why are you not stopping the violence, the multiple farm ownership, the poverty, the corruption and the sewage water in the city? Why have you made towns and cities look like villages or growth points now where they drink borehole water and endure all night power generator noises? What do you say? And you claim to be a party of the people? Why have you created a social pyramid of wealth where only your politiburo members are at the Apex of the pyramid? Is that what you means by power to the people? Or is it poverty to the people?

Drunk Youth Policy
The tools of campaign for Zanu PF have been marred by a set of violent drunk youths who have tarnished the party image more than doing it a favour. With that anything Zanu PF is now resented. The leaders behave like they do not care anymore but the truth is the mole is eating the party from within.

Panic Mode
The withdrawal of Zanu PF from JOMIC, the condemnation of SADC, a credible organization that has seen Zimbabwe through its trying phase, the venom spilled on foreign nations, resentment of innocent nations and finger pointing has all made the situation worse. Zanu is in panic mode. That panic will not help anyone. The vitriol, hate speech, the threats, the open resistance are all forms of open denial of a fast approaching speed train of change. They have no better choice except to die trying. The unfortunate piece is that the people of Zimbabwe have learned and realized what Zanu PF means. It has become notorious for eliminating the enemy, taunting the opposition, issuing endless threats and living on false pride. This panic mode is not a surprise.

Police votes
Zimbabwe has an estimated police force of 35 000. To date police votes are being said to be 70 000. The number has been inflated to create a cushion. Unfortunately whether there be ballot stuffing, name implants that include diaspora vote names, dead people names, fake names or what, time is not on their side. No matter how much they try to run away with the voters' roll, people are tired of these gimmicks. Zanu PF simply needs to hand back the country to any other leader and not itself. The voters will speak this July.
