What I think about Morgan Tsvangirai

06 Jun 2014 at 05:58hrs | Views

This man and his antics have brought the MDC and the general democratic movement into disrepute. He has singlehandedly brought it down in a manner that even Zanu PF, in their most optimistic of dreams, would never have imagined.

This man once walked on water, and he had all of us eating out his hand, once had Kings, Queens, Presidents and Prime Ministers flaunting before him. They almost honored him with a Nobel Peace price for Christ sake!

Lo and behold! He almost became the President of this country in 2008. But alas! As fate will have it, he himself has pressed the self destruct button and returned himself to the sewer where he comes from. Indeed, a hog will always be a hog.

Today, this man is an arch example of everything ugly and horrible about man-kind. The average man will have one foible. Either laziness, delinquency, dishonesty, weakness for women, violence, bed-wetting, temper, docility or just plain stupidity.

In this man, you have that rare individual who is the sum total of all our failures; Violent, dishonest, back-biting, corrupt, divisive, weak, flip flopper, idiot, evil, opportunistic, unprincipled, visionless, rumor monger, factionalist, egocentric, selfish and self centered.

We have always said education is not important.Yes, this is true. It is not a condition or yardstick for anything - formal education that is. So, on this score, Boko Haram could be right.

But here, I'm talking of that kind of education which is the holistic social and cultural development of an individual. We, the Bantu, call this Ubuntu. In Buhera, where me and this man we both hail from, we call it hunhu. It is that inner core of a person, his value system, his inter connectedness and his ability to exhibit and execute a value based character.

This man's problem is that he does not have Ubuntu. Mukuru uyu haana hunhu.

He is an uneducated moron, but not education in the formal bookish sense. But in his lack of character, solidity and moral infrastructure. This is the sort that often attract the label 'Imbwa yemunhu!'

Let's re-visit some of his iniquities. Is it not him who rejected a majority vote of the National Council on 12 October 2005, which led to the first splitting the party? The split that saw the departure of the likes of Gibson Sibanda, the great Paul Temba Nyati and many other great comrades. Is it not him who has now caused another group to leave? The likes of Siphepha Nkomo, Evelyn Masaiti, Solomon Madzore, Elton Mangoma, Lucia Matibenga, Paul Madzore, Reggie Moyo, Gordon Moyo, Settlement Chikwinya, Last Maengahama, Wilstaff Sitemere, Pishai Muchauraya, Sengezo Tshabangu, Watchy Sibanda, Costin Muguti, Sherphard Mushonga, Silas Gweshe and thousands of others?

These people, like most of us, are people who made Tsvangirai. People who, at one time could have laid down their lives for him. The question right now is how did we find ourselves at the anger end of this man's wisdom, in this case and more appropriately lack of it? Even his 'wives' have abandoned him. His children, friends.

Was it not Tendai Biti who stood on top of the world in 2008 and declared, without a shred of evidence, that this man had won, and meanwhile, he himself had sneaked out of the country and fled with his huge loin to Botswana? Is he not the one common factor in all the splits and election losses? In other words, is he not the problem?

Was it not him who pushed for the GNU that finished him when Biti and others had advised him against it?

Was it not him who spend four and half years sleeping in Government and not fighting Robert Mugabe for reforms? It seems that his biggest achievement was having tea and biscuit with the dictator.

Was it not him who spend millions and millions of dollars holidaying in exotic places like Monaco, Singapore, legend of the Seas, Venice, Paris, Chicago, New York, etc whilst the victims of political violence had only their wounds to lick?

Was it not he who spend four years chasing and sleeping with anything in a skirt? Was it not he who send Theresa Makone to pay lobola for Lorcadia Karimetsenga Tembo, only for him to deny it all the following day? Was it not him who called the whole world to the sham of a wedding in September 2012 where no legal formalities could take place? Till today, he continues to call an unmarried woman his wife, never mind her history.

Was it not him who pushed the Party into an election when there were no reforms that would ensure a free and fair ballot? Was it not him who allowed the blatant rigging of primary elections by Nelson Chamisa and thus creating a plethora of independent candidates?

Was it not him who received $1,5 million from the RBZ to buy a house but instead spend it on women? Was it not him who paid $ 300 000 on a woman, whilst victims of violence wallowed in abject poverty? Is it not him who is still staying in a 'Zanu' house, hiding on the baseless principle of entitlement?

Was it not him who instructed his aides to organize violence against Elton Mangoma in February, 2014? Was it not him who organized thugs to threaten Mrs Holland?

Is it not him who has wasted our lives for the past fifteen years through horrible inept leadership? Me as Julius Magarangoma, sincerely regret ever having worked with this man and ever having propped him up. He has unforgivably betrayed my trust that he stood for the emancipation of the suffering masses of this country.

To everyone that I sold this man to, I apologize most sincerely. I am very sorry and may you find it in your heart to forgive me.
