Zanu-PF has been a party that has thrived through every form of evil. All the decades Mugabe has managed to stay in power, he has managed to do so through manipulation, cheating on the electoral field, tyranny, harassment of the people or a completely disregard of their wishes. There is not anything considered evil that Mugabe has not done to stay in power over the unwilling or Zimbabweans. He has forced himself equally upon Zanu-PF as on all other Zimbabweans.
It has not escaped all Zimbabweans how all forgone congresses have bullied by Mugabe to endorse him for party leadership. If any Zimbabwean had doubts about these predetermined episodes at the previous conferences, the extent to which Zanu-PF has gone to prefix the outcome of the its next congress will remove all such doubts.
Zanu-PF has fired six of its provincial party chairpersons aligned to a possible candidate who Mugabe's wife does not want, or who does not approve of Grace Mugabe's ascendency to the women league post. Grace Mugabe is just one person, but her will is being outshines all these provincial leaders and general Zanu-PF stalwarts compounded wills. This is not the first time Zanu-PF has fired or intimidated its provincial leadership ahead of a congress; it always did over the years when the party was less sure one of them would not support Mugabe's endorsement. That now it is firing its provincial leadership en mass shows how fed up the party is with Mugabe.
Now even party powerhouses like Didmus Mutasa has been warned and threatened through the party apparatus, The Herald and Sunday Mail, to risk being booted out if he continues to take sides. I don't lament the downfall of any of these Zanu-PF folks. They walked, supped and practiced evil with the devil, they must get their due. This will serve as an example to the generality of Zimbabweans that evil always have some expiry date at which it rebounds back to its proxies or surrogates with hostile consequences.
Mugabe has altered constitutions or laws, constituents boundaries, people in his own party have died mysteriously, many were demoted or suspended or fired from the party in his bid to stay in power. Had he stayed in power whilst Zimbabweans lifestyle improved or remained in balance, his vileness would have been elusive to many. Mugabe has imposed himself on Zimbabweans whilst their lifestyles and all service delivery diminished significantly.
I will beg to differ with anybody who will defend and say he did not notice the contraction of service delivery or that he is a good president who is surrounded by mischievous ministers. He has single handedly appointed cabinet all ministers since independence and these were only answerable to him and not to the people. At the same time Mugabe has ridiculed and cursed anybody who dared question his misconducts or maladministration of the economy. When it reprimanded him, Mugabe unilaterally pulled Zimbabwe out of the commonwealth against the wish of many Zimbabweans.
The British Commonwealth supported and facilitated education for many poor Zimbabweans overseas. Mugabe and his cronies still managed to send their children overseas using ill-gotten money after closing the Commonwealth door for the general Zimbabweans. Many human rights abuses were conducted under his regime and human rights activists were severely assaulted in an attempt to prevent them from making an inventory of violence incidences.
Mujuru herself has at one once been used by Mugabe to block ascendency of Mnangagwa to vice presidency. Now Mnangagwa is being manipulated to thwart Mujuru's elevation. This is how crafty Mugabe is. Mnangagwa may suppose that Mugabe will promote him this time around but I don't think Emerson really knows what a fox he is dealing with. He is only using Emerson the same way he used Mujuru until an opportune time to discard him and use someone else to do so. It is only hope that sustains Mugabe's fools. Mugabe may never trust Mnangagwa to be his deputy, unless he wants to perish the next minute. So whilst he is appearing to be blocking Mujuru for Mnangagwa, he has not supported Mnangagwa outright or totally.
During the constitution making process, Tsvangirai and Mugabe snuffed the idea of president and vice co-running together. This was done by both leaders as a way to control deputies through appointing and therefore keep them under their power. This is the facility that Mugabe is using to keep his deputies guessing about who he favors to be the next president.
It is all because of Mugabe's clever manipulation of his deputies that eventually the whole Zanu-PF house is on fire. The result is now factionalism is raging in Zanu-PF with a possibility of splitting the party. In the end Mugabe has destroyed Zanu-PF, destroyed the Zimbabwean economy, service delivery, hopes, lives: - all for his own selfish ends.
All those who are being booted out to make way for Mugabe and his wife Grace have also used the Zanu-PF 'dirty' trademark tricks to rise through their party echelons, but now it's their turn to be trembled under, without pity. Mugabe does everything for himself, never for anybody else.
Zanu-PF politburo and central committee leadership are also suggesting that all who are advocating for the elevation of Mujuru be charged with treason. That's what the treacherous tightly controlled Sunday Mail has hinted. Joshua Nkomo and Morgan Tsvangirai and some others have previously been charged with treason. It seems anyone who dreams of becoming a president in Zimbabwe and challenges Mugabe has to be charged with treason.
President Mugabe's uses anyone for his own ends. Recently he first facilitated Grace's obtaining of a doctorate just the way a husband buys a dress for a wife in a shop. Honestly how can one accept a doctorate one has not studied for? Mugabe himself may have even have laughed at his wife his heart during capping her. The next minute we saw Grace trouncing virtually upon all Zanu-PF party bigwigs fueled again by her hyper-deceitful husband.
Eventually it will be Mugabe himself to taste the bitter taste of his evil rebound. Mugabe now, old and reaching the sunset of his carrier, has made enemies of virtually everyone, home and abroad. He has made many people poor or miss opportunities in life. Mugabe has remained in power by elevating corrupt deputies and turning a blind eye on their corrupt actions. His deputies got rich through shoddy deals, and Mugabe remained in power. They both got what they wanted. The Zimbabweans lost because they never reached or lived up to their potential. The majority Zimbabweans failed to get a fair shot to prosperity in their lives because Mugabe cared less for their progress than for his obsession of continuing in glory and power. All the time Mugabe lied to the Zimbabweans that it was sanctions hurting them. No, it was his unbridled, insatiable appetite for power that reduced Zimbabweans to mere vegetable, airtime or general street vendors.
