Legalising prostitution bad for marriages Tabitha Khumalo
15 Apr 2012 at 10:21hrs | Views
Thank you very much for allowing me space to express my feelings towards MDC-T Bulawayo East MP Tabitha Khumalo's desperate call to legalise prostitution in Zimbabwe.
It is tantamount to legalising the smoking of dagga, growing of mbanje, incest or sodomy.
What has gone wrong with legislators in this country, who seem to have gone haywire in their thinking? Legislators are lawmakers and we expect them to make sound decisions.
I presume our dear MP Khumalo has lost the plot and she need to be corrected earlier before she finds herself in a difficult position.
I understand there are mixed reactions from her statement, but advocating for such a proposal will actually damage the moral fabric of our culture and we will be setting a bad precedence to the new generation and I would not want to think that it is a good way to go.
Men are regarded as the weaker sex partners and they will take advantage of the law and will spend much of their time holed up in brothels thereby causing emotional pain to their wives and families.
I can foresee many marriage breaking up and more divorces once the MP's wishes are implemented.
