VisionsFM, the newly launched Zimbabwean online radio station on Thursday night at 2300hrs GMT dropped a bomb shell as the three founders interrupted Ezra 'Tshisa' Sibanda's evening show to announce that the radio station had gone mobile.
This new development means that most people in Zimbabwe and South Africa are now able to listen to the station on their mobile phones.
Compatible handsets: iPhones and Nokia.
During the announce listeners confirmed that the site was working on iPhones and Nokia, while Blackberry users confirmed that the player is does not work.
One South African radio listener Gabriel Manqoba also confirmed that he is listening to the radio on his mobile phone.
Bulawayo24.com got in touch with VisionsFm's developer, Libz Mbanje from www.eduzenet.com who is also the developer for Bulawayo24.com to find out more about the station going mobile.
Mbanje said: "When I did the mobile site I had the iPhone in mind, since about 2days ago I responded to a post on Facebook by a listener asking if VisionsFm radio will ever play on an iPhone."
He then went on to say that eDuzeNet is working on fixing the bug that is stopping the player to play on other mobile devices.
"We would appreciate it if listeners could give us feedback on which mobile phones are compatible, as well as which ones are not compatible", eDuzeNet Jnr developer Nate said.
