As the economy begins to evolve from stabilization to growth, Hewlett Packard (HP) has responded swiftly to this positive tide by setting up strategic business structures geared at strengthening the firm's position in the country.
Speaking on the sidelines of a customer technology seminar hosted by HP in the capital recently, the company's Technology Services, Channel Sales Specialist for Southern and East Africa, Christine Ambetsa said HP is targeting Zimbabwe as one of its key focus areas.
"We have not been to Zimbabwe for a long time due to the economic pressures which the country has been going through. However we are excited and positive about the economic prospects in Zimbabwe.
"There is a lot of hope and potential in the country so we feel that we need to start early in renewing our business interests here. We are establishing Zimbabwe as one of our key focus countries in our marketing drive," Ambetsa said.
The customer technology seminar brought together Information Technology (IT) experts, Channel Partners and customers affiliated to the technology company. The large gathering discussed new technologies being offered by HP which include Storage Solutions, Blade Matrix Systems and Business Critical Systems.
Ambetsa said the commendable turnout at the one-day seminar indicated a ready market for the HP products.
"Based on the huge turn-out we received at the seminar, I must say our future in Zimbabwe looks very promising. Our major aim was to bring our partners together so as to inform them about our new offering and what exactly we plan to do in Zimbabwe. This will go a long way in helping them embrace our strategies and build their own which will complement ours.
"We are moving with pace to solidify our channel partnerships ahead of the economic ebb and prosperity that will soon flourish in the country. This will also help us to offer the best service to our customers," she said.
Hp boasts five channel partners and three distributors which gives them extensive coverage in the country.
The company remains dedicated to playing an instrumental role in the revival of the Zimbabwean economy.
"IT expertise drives the economy; IT also drives the future which HP is already giving to its clients through its unique products.
In this regard, HP will continue to play a catalyst role in the revival of the Zimbabwean economy as our products are geared at accelerating production in the country," added Ambetsa
