Top performers for "Harare Lockdown Concert", Mafikizolo from South Africa and Roberto of Zambia, are expected in the country tomorrow ahead of their show at Harare International Conference Centre tomorrow night.
Roberto and his crew will touch down at the Harare International Airport at 11.50 am aboard Kenyan Airways while Mafikizolo arrive at 12.20 pm on South African Airways flight.
The singers are coming with their full bands and the airport is expected to be a hive of activity since their flights are only 30 minutes apart.
Mafikizolo and Zahara will share the stage with Oliver Mtukudzi, Jah Prayzah and Alexio. Tickets to the concert went on sale on Monday at outlets in Harare and organisers say the response has been overwhelming, indicating the tickets could be sold out before the show begins.
"We are expecting the musicians tomorrow afternoon and we are happy to announce that ticket sales have been going well. The arrangement for advance tickets has given fans enough time to purchase without pressure and we are confident everything will sail smoothly," said the organisers of the concert Simba Madziva of Simmad Entertainment.
"It seems the tickets will be sold out before the show and that will give us less pressure at the gate because people will just come with their tickets and go straight into the show.
"Early unveiling of advance tickets has been an advantage to us and it will also benefit the fans. We are encouraging people to come and welcome the musicians at the airport and we know most people will be in the partying mood as the festive season begins."
"Harare Lockdown Concert" tickets are going for $15 for HICC's upstairs arena and $25 for downstairs part of the auditorium. The tickets are available at Reflections Stores, Sam Levy's Village, Avondale Shops, Joina City, Westgate and ZB Towers.
The "Harare Lockdown Concert" has become an annual event that is held on the day when most companies shut down for the festive season holidays and it attracts thousands of merrymakers.
