"If you check, there are several gospel musicians on the show. That must be applauded because that is an equal opportunity for us to come together with one mission. It is a rare show and we are looking forward to a great day."

Gospel musician Olivia Charamba is anxiously looking forward to the "Gospel Divas" show that will feature South African musician Rebecca Malope. The concert is slated for May 28 at the Harare Gardens while the second edition will be in Bulawayo on May 29.

Mai Charamba said it is good that they will be coming together as female musicians to praise and worship.

Several gospel divas are billed to perform at the event.

Mai Charamba said the gig was a unifier as it brought several female artistes of various backgrounds together.

"We thank God for the gig that has managed to bring us together as female gospel musicians," she said.

For her that is one great opportunity to preach the word of God to people through music.

"The event is good for us as musicians as well as for fans as it will be time to preach the word of God through dancing and singing. Men should also take the opportunity to bring their families to the event," she said.

She hailed the promoter for her efforts to give several female gospel musicians platform to prove their mettle.

"If you check, there are several gospel musicians on the show. That must be applauded because that is an equal opportunity for us to come together with one mission. It is a rare show and we are looking forward to a great day," she said.

Several gospel artistes that include Agatha Murudzwa, Carol Mujokoro, Mercy Mutsvene, Joyce Simeti, Jennifer Maneni, Bethen Pasinawako and Ireen Tigere are set to perform at the concert.

Mujokoro, Mustvene and Murudzwa have been maintaining a low profile and their appearance on the gig makes it interesting.

Orgnisers of the event said they were looking forward to a blessed afternoon.

"Everything is now ready ahead of the show and we are hoping to see collaborations after the gig. Dr Malope has since promised her best for the gig," said one of the organisers.
