Miss Tourism Zimbabwe beauty pageant patron, Barbara Mzembi has claimed that she has no interest in beauty pageants.
Barbara is the wife of Tourism minister Walter Mzembi.
Barbara denies she was hand picked from home.
"I have no interest in beauty pageants. I don't believe in judging a woman by parameters that she cannot control like the way her body curves are, or how short or tall she can be" she said.
"I have no passion for physical beauty, real beauty is what we have inside, which we cannot see but can feel. I have passion for helping others".
Asked by the Herald whether her appointment was not a bedroom decision, she said" Who is the right person for the job? Were patrons of other pageants not hand-picked? Did patrons of other pageants go through an interview, or audition or any test or some sort to choose the right one? Are there any qualifications or experience required for one to become a patron?
"My appointment as the patron of the pageant was not well taken at home, and the Minister had nothing to do with it. He did not even want to hear about it".
