Collin Nyabadza Children's Voice Charitable Trust (CNCVCT) Recognised at The UN, Austria, and Vienna

The Collin Nyabadza Children's Voice Charitable Trust (CNCVCT) continues to grow in leaps and bounds. On the 5th of October 2016, they were among 38 other organisations spread around the globe that were recognized by the United Nations Women's Guild (UNWG) at the UN Headquarters in Vienna, Austria.
This came after the CNCVCT had successfully carried out an USD11 000 project sponsored by the Vienna based organization.
The CNCVCT was represented by their Executive Director, Mr. Collin Nyabadza who is based in the City of Swift Current in Canada. Attending this award ceremony was a good moment for the young and vibrant organization as this provided them with an opportunity to initiate new connections with some diplomats and other members of some funding agencies present. The trip to the UN was made possible for Mr. Nyabadza by Swift Current individuals, families and businesses who contributed towards his ticket and expenses. The companies that helped were Wallace Construction, Standard Motors and Mr. Nyabadza's bank, CIBC. Tribute also goes to Swift Current couple that paid for the banner appearing in some of the pictures that Mr. Nyabadza took with him to Austria for the event.
Mr. Nyabadza also received assistance from Australia from Dr. Nzimanyana Mpofu whom he went to school with in Zimbabwe, and also from a friend based in Calgary, Alberta and another one in the UK.

"I really had to attend the event, and it was touching to see the support I got from my community in Swift Current where I live and also from some of my friends across the globe, as they all saw the long term benefits in me attending the event", said Mr. Nyabadza from his Canadian base. This recognition will certainly further help raise the Collin Nyabadza Children's Voice Charitable Trust's profile in their continued search for more funds in their endeavours to impact the lives of more rural school children in Zimbabwe. "This type of work relies mainly on extensive networks. I am therefore grateful to all the people who made it possible for me to travel to Vienna. Among the people I met at the function was Raja Bailey, wife to Canada's Ambassador to Austria, who really went out of her way to introduce me to some of her colleagues and told them about our work".
Established in December 2012, the CNCVCT has already successfully carried out several projects in Matobo, Bubi and Tsholotsho Districts. Their biggest strength is the versatile and highly experienced team they have put together which is led by Mr.Siqhubumthetho Dube, who is highly experienced in this type of work. The consists of highly experienced teachers and school heads, engineers, three Special Needs Teachers of which Mr. Nyabadza is one of them and an accountant. One of the team members is finishing her PhD studies in Special Needs Education. Added to this, the organization is strong advocates of the virtues of ethics, honesty, accountability, transparency and integrity. "While our immediate goal is to provide physical resources to the schools we support, our ultimate agenda is to use our organization as a template of how institutions ought to be run in Zimbabwe. By subscribing to these values, we can go a long way as a country", stressed Mr. Nyabadza.
The CNCVCT is currently engaged in a number of big projects including the construction of a 1x2 classroom block at Seshawe Primary School in Bubi District and a USD130 000 project in partnership with the Rotary Club of Kamloops West, B.C, Canada and other Rotary Communities across Canada and the Bulawayo South Rotary Club, Zimbabwe, that would see 45 primary and secondary schools receive classroom furniture and textbooks.
The funds have already been put together. All that is left is the paper work which all the concerned project parties are diligently working on. The CNCVCT has also just been approved of a USD4 155 project by the Rotary Club of Calgary South, Canada towards the purchase of classroom furniture for Lingwe, Marinoha and Zamanyoni Primary Schools in Matobo District.
